Another vegan post!

Can anyone recommend any good vegan bakeries? Or restaurants/cafes where you can order a cake/cupcakes/pie, etc. and bring it home? I looked in the tags and found lists of vegan restaurants but no bakeries specifically. Thanks again!

food: veg*n, restos: dessert & bakeries, restos: veg*n

You can make cake without eggs and milk?

I'm confused. Are you asking me this or are you telling me? If you're telling me this, I'm not really sure why. I'm well aware of the fact that you can make vegan desserts at home, but I'm obviously not looking for recipes.

I know they are out in DDO, so I'm not sure how useful this will be, but Health Tree had cupcakes from Sweets From The Earth, last time I went. They were in the freezer, right along with my beloved Coconut Bliss. :D

It's a bit too far for me since I live in Verdun, but thank you anyway. :)

Le Branche d'Olivier
Le Pomme Verte
(both on Wellington in Verdun)

ECOFruits on Cote Des Neiges (near Metro, north of the JGhospital)

...namely muffins and squares but they're good.

Thanks! I've been to Branche d'Olivier (since it was actually recommended to me here), but I'm hesitant about buying a lot of stuff beyond the necessities because if I don't like something.. I really don't like it and I don't have much money to waste. Good to know their desserts are worth a shot.

Thanks! For restaurants like Aux Vivres -- do you know if you can just walk in and order dessert to go?

I haven't yet tried this café personally but I did buy a bunch of stuff from them at the Marché Casse-Noisette over Xmas.

It's not strictly vegan, but their website says their food is "vegetarian, often vegan". They also sell jars of cookie ingredient mixes, tea mixes, flavoured sugar, and other things. Everything of theirs is also in eco-friendlier packaging and has tons of flower flavour!

Google offers one place I didn't hear of http://shishimontreal.com/ And yeah, broken record, but Chowhound's a pretty good forum for this stuff (I had to research this for my boyfriend's parents who are vegan).

Vegan cupcakes take over the world like one of the above posters suggested is a really cute book :D

I've never heard of ShiShi Desserts, but those cupcakes on their website look absolutely delicious. Thanks.
