Do I have the right to have a party?
Hi everyone,
I'm just looking for some info on my rights as a citizen to have the (very occasional) house party. I live in Verdun and have a house party once or twice a year. Without fail, the cops get called on me and end up ruining the night.
Now, I know the law is the law, but all this strikes me as a little unfair. I'm not having a party every weekend, it's once in a blue moon. I have to listen to my neighbor's kids screaming at 7 in the morning. Don't I have the right to live my particular lifestyle as well? I was wondering if there's any way I can get some sort of permit or if the frequency of the noise factors in (i.e. it's permissible once or twice a year). The city's website hasn't been much help.
