Moving FROM Montreal TO the USA?
Hi all,
I hope this is appropriate for this community, my apologies if it isn't.
But my question is this--I've seen a lot of posts about Americans wanting to move TO Montreal, but I was wondering if anyone had any info or experience regarding the move the other way around?
My boyfriend and I would very much love to move to New York City in a few years. We're legally married in the US (got married in Vegas), but there is no record of our marriage in Canada. Does anyone here have any experience in moving from Montreal to the US? What was it like? How many years did you have to wait? Were spouses ever involved? If I find a job in the US, would I be able to bring my "husband" along with me?
Of course, I will be going to the American embassy and getting some information from them. But I figured I'd at least post here as well and see if anyone has had any personal experience. :)
