A Childhood’s End
Joshua Levine
To the tune of “Circle Game”
Far from that bright center of the universe
Young Luke lived on a farm on Tatooine
Keeping cool with Biggs at Tashi Station
And blasting womprats from his T-16
Chorus:
In the Dune Sea, there once lived a boy
Who thought lightsabers were just some toy
He wanted some excitement in his life
But things soon changed when the Empire
Decided to stop by
And now that boy must be a new Jedi
One day he bought gold Threepio and Artoo
‘Cause Uncle needed new droids round the farm
Many droids were for sale by the Jawas
When Artoo won Luke over with his charm.
Chorus
One day Luke found that Artoo had gone missing
Threepio had seen him roll away
They hopped into the speeder to go find him
In the dune sea it’s not safe for droids to play.
Chorus
Now Luke got soundlt thumped on by some Tusken
Threepio lies in pieces on the stone
Some old man comes and frightens off the raiders
Invites Luke and the droids into his home.
Chorus
Now Artoo starts to play this old blue movie
Luke watched and he thought it kinda neat
The suns are low he must be getting home now
He takes the droids and heads into the heat.
Chorus
A plume of smoke hangs over the horizon
The speeder slows and Luke looks without joy
The farm is gone and all that’s left are ashes
Of Owen and Beru who raised him from a boy
Chorus
