Taking back kitsch
Antoine and I have our first tree! A couple's first Christmas tree is a Big Deal. The kind of thing you tell your kids about, and complain about how impoverished and Charlie Brown it was, whilst carrying it home barefoot in the snow, uphill both ways.
Our tree is Fabulous. It is Fabulous in a Gloria Gaynor, acid trip, raver sort of way. It is hot pink tinsel, about a foot and a half high, and decorated with hot pink LEDs, silver dico balls, and giant fake diamonds. That's right, our tree has blingitude.
I love it. So much.
Plus we had two back-to-back birthday dinners tonight. One at Macaroni Grill and then we basically crossed the freeway to eat at Buca di Bepo. I think I had four types of pasta and three desserts tonight. I wish I could purge.
