Oz just got back from his follow-up at the vet: a recovered kitty!
Huzzah! Now we're just waiting for him to poop. Normally I don't care about the fecal status of my cat, but seeing as it was an intestinal thing that almost killed him, and seeing as he spent five days not eating or drinking...confirmation that things are indeed functioning properly has become kind of a big deal. I guess with cats after a long bout of fasting like this it can take a couple days.
Also; Oz is very pink. Like, his skin is pink like a sun-burned redhead, right to the tips of his ears. So he gets steriod pills to take care of any allergic reaction that might be going on. He's had so many drugs and treatments this last week, I'm not surprised.
In other cat related news, some douchebag asshat in our neighborhood has decided to take the letter of the law very seriously. In ABQ apparently both cats and dogs must be leashed and accompanied at all times if they are outdoors. This pathetic loser has decided to set cat traps and has any caught cat picked up by the pound. Simon, our cutely retarded box-loving cat has been caught twice in as many weeks. No matter that he's clearly not stray, wears a collar, or that it's the same god damn neighborhood cat you caught last week, he gets hauled off and Anna Maria has to pay to get him back. Seriously shady.
So, this weekend we plan to figure out which house it is and confront him. Then, if he refuses to stop, we'll post his address and his activities on flyers all over the neighborhood. We're trying to come up with other ninja solutions to this problem, so if y'all have any ideas, let me know.
