Example Themes and Suggestions
Here are some examples of ideas I had in mind for themes for our monthly challenges.
Theme Categories and Examples:
Specific Artist; These could be all the songs in the mix need to be by a specific artist of your choice or chosen by the mod. Ex: All Beatles songs or all Tori Amos songs.
Specific Fandom; All the fanmixes have to relate to a specific fandom. Ex: The monthly theme could be Legend of the Seeker or The Office
Crossover Fandom; You pick or mod picks two fandoms to be crossed over. The songs would reflect what would happen if their worlds collided! Ex: Robin Hood meets Merlin.
Crossover Artists; Like the fandoms and like specific artist, you would create a mix using only the songs of two artists. Not as hard as specific, but not that easy either! Ex: Vienna Teng and Poe.
Voter's Choice; You, the participants and viewers, get to vote on what you'd like to do for that month.
Mixer's Choice; Mod provides two challenge options, you pick which one you want! In this case, if you feel ambitious, you can complete both challenges! In these instances, there is a winner per category and then an overall winner.
General Theme; You can pick whatever artist or fandom you want, so long as it fits a specific theme. Ex: Love is in the Air - a mix celebrating the love between your OTP.
**Please note, in the instance that there is a forced choice, such as a specific artist or fandom, there will almost always be second option to choose from, just for the sake of fairness. Also, there will be regular feedback from participants! I want to know what you want how you want it!
