This morning, Fall made a daring attack on Indian Summer. It's been Indian Summer the past week here. This is Fall the way I really like it. This morning when I got up, it was raining in the mountains around Livermore. There were purple clouds everywhere with but one patch of blue to the South, trying to break through. On 580 on the drive into work, it looked as if it had rained on the road. I didn't get any rain though, all the way to work. By the afternoon the sun was out in full force but the sky was also full of big fluffy white cumulus clouds. It would have been a great day to have gone for a walk but I didn't.
I got a check from work today which I drove into Oakland to cash and deposit. It's a bonus for years of service. I've been at my current day job for nine years. Wow. So much has happened in the last decade. When I started at the job in Alameda, I was still married and living in Lodi.
I just finished the most insipid tasting apple I have ever had the displeasure to digest. It was like eating crispy water. Bleah. I hope the other five apples aren't like this one. Perhaps I'll try the mango tomorrow - it's ripe and it smells good and I haven't had one in a long time.
I finally got to the grocery last night. I've been eating at the fast food joints entirely too much. I've got to get back into my regimen. At any rate, now I am reasonably stocked up for the next couple of weeks. I've just got to remember to roll out early tomorrow instead of hitting the snooze bar on my alarm clock.
