Movies I've watched or re-watched this month include: Turok, Son of Stone, Mr. Warmth: The Don Rickles Project, My Big Fat Greek Wedding, Snakes on a Plane, Solaris (1972), The Incredibles, War of the Worlds (1953), Help!, Drop Dead Gorgeous, 20000 Leagues Under the Sea (1954), The Enchanted Cottage (1944), The Black Hole, The Call of Cthulhu, Fame, Little Man, I Am Legend, Three Outlaw Samurai, Darkon, The Red Shoes, 7 Faces of Dr. Lao, Little Big Man, Blade, I Robot, Captain Barbell: Phillipines Tagalong, Crime Wave (AKA The XYZ Murders), African Booty Scratcher, Doogal, Shadow of a Doubt (1943), Air Force One, Epic Movie, Death to Smoochy, Edmond, Pacific Heights, Akira, Less Than Zero and Justice League: The New Frontier.

Among the best of this bunch that I had not seen before: The Call of Chthulhu, Darkon, The Red Shoes (I know, I know, I should have seen that one decades ago) and Justice League: The New Frontier.

Among the worst: Turok: Son of Stone was quite disappointing, as was the original Solaris, and the music video from Captain Barbell was ten times better (and shorter) than the flick itself.

I Am Legend wasn’t as bad as I thought it would be, Less Than Zero just doesn’t hold up well in this century, and Death to Smoochy gets better each time I see it.

This month I also re-watched three of my all-time favorites: Little Big Man, Akira (I had to watch it again after hearing that Leonardo DiCaprio is doing a live-action version of it - tell me that won’t be a disaster) and my absolute fave Hitchcock flick, Shadow of a Doubt.

I've briefly reviewed some of them at my Welcome to Hell blog, among lots of other pop culture stuff, check it out if you're interested.
