I was concerned about not making Erik look like an older version of Edward Cullen :/ I figure most people by now know what vampires are all about so there was no need to write out the details. It felt better to let Erik be a little bit more mysterious like that, you know?
I think maybe what worked was Moira's POV--since she doesn't know what's going on with Charles and Erik, neither do the readers, and nobody gets any answers!
