Weekend

Friday night
falfax and I went to Red Lobster for dinner (where I avoided seafood as normal and got the usual mozzarella sticks and chicken fingers with a vodka martini), and then we went to see Robert Radford, one of the world's premiere flamenco guitarists, all as the official celebration of our 10th anniversary.

Saturday I saw 300 on IMAX with
falfax,
techix,
looking_askance,
anarkistsdream,
jimberly,
tallwithglasses
lawpeeps, and
drkest_sun, after a HUGE meal at India Palace.

The film was great visually, and the two hours' running time only feels like an hour and a half. However, I'd have no drive to see it again for quite a long time. Granted its one of the most beautiful films ever processed, and definitely a must-see on the big-screen, but otherwise there's nothing compelling enough about it to make you see the world in a different way. It can inspire you to get buff if you're a male I suppose, but its a far cry from today's OSU Daily O'Collegian review which summarises by saying, "Any guy who sees this movie and doesn't include it in his top five favorite movies should return his man card immediately". But what is amusing to me is that I've loved Gerard Butler ever since he was the Phantom in the The Phantom of the Opera (2004), and now he's everyone's favourite topic over the water-cooler today.

Then Sunday I had to work all day, from 12 - 9 PM. Bleh. But at least it gives me Friday off, which is great because THURSDAY NIGHT IS THE FLOGGING MOLLY CONCERT AT CAIN'S BALLROOM! Woo-hoo!
