Scrambling

I'm in the midst of preparing my paperwork to send in both my feature-film and my historical documentary to the Sundance Film Festival and the Chicago Film Festival. The postmark for the latter one has to be today in order to make the "early deadline", so over lunch I'll be taking care of that.

My student worker James needed something to do after some additional training this morning, and asked me what the bundles of DVD's were. He'd watched the historical documentary last week, as did robopresident and cadence1, and asked if he could also watch the feature film on his laptop. It turns out I had a spare copy in my desk, so he's been watching it between helping the very few patrons we've had this morning. I'll be happy to get his much-wanted criticisms and comments before he leaves. Both the other workers I named above had very helpful comments on the documentary, and its nice to hear real critiques that have nothing to do with issues that would be still be present if I hadn't already colour-corrected the images and had the sound mastered.

But at any rate the DVD's will be on their way in the mail by afternoon! Then begins the long wait up until the first week of December. He asked me if I'd gotten anything in Sundance so far, and I replied, "I wouldn't still be working here if I had!"

sundance, documentary, let us go and burn her body or the devil, chicago film festival, fire on the mountain
