Grrrr!!
Tom Waits, in his usual style, has a VERY selective tour this time out. So here's all that pertains to me:
Fri, Aug 4 Memphis, TN Orpheum Theatre - 6 hours 41 mins away.
Wed, Aug 9 Chicago, IL Auditorium Theatre - 12 hrs. away.
Grrr...It's a no-brainer which one I should go to. HOWEVER, this is WAY too early! When I read this was going to be a "fall" tour, I was expecting Sept. or Oct. But Aug?
Hmmm...can I afford this? 6 1/2 hrs. drive is nothing. Throw in 2 concert tickets and a $30 hotel room. Perhaps. I mean, he only tours once every seven years on average (in North America anyway), and at age 60-something he probably won't have too many more in him.
I'll have to figure it out pronto (that's cowboy speak), because tickets will sell out within the first 20 minutes.
