We have crackers (and crap jokes, paper hats, and plastic toys to boot).
We have boardgames (if twister's a boardgame).
We have festive music (although MJ's idea of festive may be fairly radical).
We have presents (just about).
We have decorations (the tackier the better).
We have a christmas tree (Cactus).
We have food (90% sugar methinks).
We have a christmas montage (what can I possibly say?).
We have our seasonal hats at the ready (or I do).
We have an empty Guidance room (although sod's law may well pick tomorrow to put a lunchtime revision sesh on)
We have disco lights (but possibly not the corneas to properly cope).
We might even have a disco ball for God's sake.
But do we have a kickass christmas party? Only time will tell.

In truth I think all this material stuff we're doing is entirely peripheral. It's christmas and I want to enjoy it with the people I love. This will be our last proper christmas together, as a college-family. Some of them I'm closer to than others, some of them I would kill for and others I regard with respect and a silent agreement that we may not gel or share the same interests but when push comes to shove we're there for each other. There is not single instance I can think of when I have been annoyed at any of these people, and I really think it's the same for everybody. In a group as large as this you'd expect there to be rows, but 18 months later, nope. Nothing.

I'm not naive, I know this will end, and I'm completely determined to enjoy it while it's here and without flaw.
