So I've been playing the violin for about a year and a half now. Some people might think it bloody hilarious that a 34 year old woman would start a new instrument in the first place, let alone the violin, but I was Inspired!!! Inspired, I say!!! What with all the brilliant Owen Pallett (Final Fantasy - the man, not the game) & Patrick Wolfishness, what could I do in the face of such obvious genius except attempt cheap imitation? lolz
But I digress, things have been going along quite swimmingly considering what an uphill battle it has been. I am made of stubborn, luckily it's a good thing in this case! Until lately. So there I am, practicing for all my little heart and hand's worth and yet... and yet... something somehow went terribly wrong. It seems the violin, in a fit of pique, has decided to create it's very own little paradox in me. Bastard!!! (no, no, baby, I didn't mean it!) A song I have been practicing for Several weeks now and dare I say it? actually progressing to the point where it was listenable instead of cringe-able, has somehow been getting worse and worse in the last couple of day! At this point I fear it is quite probable that with a little more Practice I shall soon not be able to play it At ALL!!!! Again, WTF??!! gah. This sucks. :(
In happier news = My goal for this year was to be fluent enough in french to be able to hold an actual conversation with someone, rather than just reading the labels off of supermarket food. (Oh Canada, so cute with it's pseudo-bilingualism). A very good friend of mine is also very interested in learning french as her boyfriend is from Paris and it makes family events rather awkward when she can't understand a word they say. She has a course in french on a set of CD's that we are going through and my first lesson was last Monday. Yayyy!!!! After we did about an hour of it her boyfriend made us a fucking Fantastic dinner with scallops and tuna steaks w/jalapenos and all sorts of little bits of yumminess. Mmmmm!!! So if any of you francophones out there would take pity on my atrocious grammer (at least you can't hear my accent, muahaha!!) and wouldn't mind doing a little practicing with me.... feel free!!! I'm not begging, no really, I'm not! Ok, maybe a little. ;)
"En anglais, s'il vous plait?" NON!!!!
