Also, someone had posted a handwritten sign on the subway beside an ad for a women's shelter funding campaign (http://www.stopviolence.ca/media_centre.html). It read something like:
FEMINIST FASCISTS
RUIN MEN
BASTARDIZE CHILDREN
NO MAN COULD ABUSE SO MUCH.
WE LIVE IN A FEMINIST DICTATORSHIP.
Not verbatim, but something close. The words that stuck out were fascists and dictatorship, and the idea that women are oppressing men by not wanting to be, you know, beaten.
I wanted to take a picture of it, but my camera phone sucks.
