Kiss In!

This is the kind of activism I can really get into! :) Spread the word!

TAKE BACK THE CORNER: QUEER POSITIVE KISS-IN

Northeast corner of Bloor and Yonge
Saturday, January 29th @ 1:00 p.m.

On Friday, January 21st two lesbians who had been walking hand in hand
at Mont-Royal were stopped at the corner waiting to head north on Saint
Denis. Just before the light changed they stepped towards each other to
steal a quick kiss before crossing the street, when from out of nowhere
someone smashed the back of one of their heads with such force that it
rammed into the head of the other in a head butt, leaving both girls
stunned and confused. One was left with split skin on her forehead and
a painful bump while the other, not as fortunate, was left with a broken
nose. Over the noise of the gathering crowd they could hear each other
asking what had happened, each realizing but not wanting to say "we’ve
just been gay bashed…"

Montreal and Toronto, places where an alternative lifestyle might be
given equality at the altar in the near future… but wait, aren’t we getting
ahead of ourselves… when kissing in the street still isn’t safe?

Come one, come all let’s kick some homophobic ass and partake in a good
old fashion “kiss-in” in solidarity with the Montreal Take Back The
Corner “Kiss-In” demonstration. See this website for more Montreal info:

Why: ’Cause it's unbelievable that this is still happening!
