Jacob's surgery went well yesterday -- but the rest of the day/night/today has been hell.
they took him when he woke up in recovery and tried to get a ct scan done to see if the port in his head was placed right. they didn't sedate him they just taped him down -- it was miserable and we were there for three hours and then they said we'd have to come back. the poor boy was starving.
then last night he had a fever - it went away but this morning when we brought him down for an mri they found that he had a 104 fever. it's been chaotic to say the least.
right now he's sitting up in bed on a morphine high with his fever breaking - playing and playing.
i got his hair back in a jar again. the nurses cut his bandage on his head to make it look like a heart. he has to wear a little mesh cap - it's really one of the cutest things i've ever seen.
we're waiting for the oncologist/surgeons to come up and talk to us -- he is scheduled for another surgery today and bone marrow biopsies and tests.
they didn't have any room on his usual floor so we're in the bone marrow unit. it's kind of creepy, to be honest. air tight doors and tons of precautions. it's just eerie and it makes me feel sick to my stomach.
