District 40 political race
When State Representative Lea Fite died on October 26th, 2009, a special election was obviously going to have to be held. The interesting part is that on February 16th, there will be not only the usual Democrat candidate (Ricky Whaley) and Republican (K.L. Brown) but also a third independent candidate (Carol Hagan). It is going to be interesting to see how many votes Carol gets in the special election. Personally, I am going to vote for her, because I always like to support a third party candidate if it will help out other possible third party candidates in the future.
