LOVE IT.

There is so much gold buried in the circumstances around Dick and Mac and Cassidy, the angst and the moving on and who exactly was Cassidy, and you managed to show us all of it. Everytime I sit down to write Vmars fic I get distracted by my personal shiny of Logan/Veronica, and I forget the goodyness that could come from Mac and Dick.

And Cassidy... I really have a tender spot for Cassidy, which may be unpopular to say, but I do. Just like Logan and Dick, Veronica and Duncan, Lilly, he was BROKEN. It's what Neptune DOES. And when you brought up the family thing (and can I hug you for letting Logan be the one to point it out), that you can pick your family, its so basically what the whole heart of Veronica Mars is. Choosing your own family and choosing who you can love.

I'm sorry, I got completely rambley there. But this was so good, I just loved it. The only thing I can nitpick here is the relationship between Veronica and Dick (and it's actually something that I'm attempting to solve in a current fic) would be a bit strained, given his part in her rape. But that's easy to handwave because enough time has passed that maybe those two resolved those differences.

Thank you so much! I'm glad you enjoyed it! There is definitely so much that can be done with the Dick, Mac, and Cassidy, and this is the first time I've ever been brave enough to try tackling it. Dick and Veronica's relationship is definitely something that would have had to be addressed, but for the purposes of this story I assumed that to be something that Veronica and Dick worked out between the two of them a while ago, as Veronica is married to Dick's best friend. But it would definitely be something interesting to explore!
