Once, when I was doing walking meditation, I wound up walking right through the boughs of a maple tree, and when I got a close-up look at a leaf, I saw ants farming aphids on it. They kind of tickled them with their antennae and teeny droplets of -whatever- would come out. I could see the dried up aphid corpses the ants had left behind, too. It was interesting.

Yesterday I started a piece I'm very excited about. It features resistors. And I have some neato ideas for other pieces. Tonight is the first Thursday of the month, or, as it's known in Portland, First Thursday (that means lots of gallery open-houses in the Northwest). So I'm heading to a cafe to draw in hopes of checking out the art I want to see while things are nice and slow.

My ma says "In general, your art holds, for me, a mixture of fascination and fear."

The little booklet I always write my ideas on went through the wash. It's interesting that this happened so soon after my hard drive stopped working. I will have to peel the pages apart at some point and record what's in it. Good thing Alicia gave me a moleskine notebook! Thanks, Alicia!

I also landed myself a spot for ceramic production, found out that kiln firing is free with a membership at Shop People (possibly quite worth it), and learned how to get a tax ID as a sole proprietor.

AND I have an interview on Tuesday for an insurance sales position. Surprised? I want to learn how to sell things.
