After rewatching Mononoke, I became greatly inspired by the mask that the Medicine Seller gets after his face is taken away from him in the third arc. I thought the mask resembled an animal a bit, which led me to thinking that since the Medicine Seller was very obviously not human, than maybe his current form was not his true form, which then lead
