[ohgojima] au drabble

My Japanese history class is the most boring thing ever, and the only way I can stay awake and take decent notes is if I’m doing something else at the same time. Because if I’m not I’m too drowsy to pay attention lol. So I wrote most of this while I was going back and forth between notes in class. Inspired by boycottbananas, while we were talking about wanting Yuto in a serious drama role and she somehow came up with Suzuka as a teenage assassin and Yuto as the son of the police chief, idk but I hope you enjoy this ‘wtf’ au :3 I KNOW IT PROBABLY DOESN'T MAKE SENSE OR ISN'T LOGICAL, JUST IGNORE THE FACT IT PROBABLY WOULD NEVER HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE. For some reason I kept remembering DNAngel while I was writing this orz

big dogs and puppy eyes//ohgojima//au//the big dogs might be after her, but Suzuka is much more interested in the puppy

The worst part of it was the blood. It got everywhere, and not in the pretty, artistic way that anime liked to make you think was real. It splattered onto her clothes, unnoticeable against the black fabric but sticky and uncomfortable anyway, speckled her hands and face, sank into the expensive, plush carpet- well that wasn’t her problem, anyway. It was a messy job, and she was one of the best at it.

And all of this when she was only 16.

“Thank you for your service,” she said, voice unnaturally sickeningly sweet for someone standing over a dead body. She tucked the gun away and drew out a handkerchief (red with white wildflowers) in an attempt to clean herself up, wiping the blood off of her face and hands. “If you really had wanted to live that badly you should have gotten better security. The police are about as threatening as flies.”

“Please don’t insult my dad’s work, they’re doing the best they can.”

The voice didn’t surprise her- she had eliminated the pesky police dogs, but not their pups. And somehow this one always managed to slip under her radar. She was being too soft on him, maybe, all for a pretty smile. The gun in his hands did surprise her, and made her cringe- she didn’t want her puppy playing with such mean toys, he was too good to know what that kind of cruel power felt like in his hands.

“Little boys shouldn’t play with big guns,” she taunted as she faced him, smiling her amusement and her eyes flashing him a warning. He held it awkwardly and his stance was weak- he wouldn’t shoot her. Not now, probably not ever.

A slight smile broke his hardened expression at the familiar joke; she might have been five days his elder, but he was the one a head taller than her. But he didn’t lower his gun (probably stolen from his dad, she thought idly). “Little girls shouldn’t be killing big guys.

She sighed heavily- such a stubborn puppy! “I told you, I don’t have a choice.” Looking at him, she smiled slyly. “Or are you just worried about me? Don’t be, I may be small but these big rich guys are nothing. I can take care of myself.”

“Suzuka, you don’t have to do this.” It was something else that was familiar, this bantering and bickering about whether or not this was right, whether or not it was as easy to get out of it as he said it would be. She could see how desperate he got when he spoke, how hopeful and determined he was to change her mind, and it warmed her, a little, because she couldn’t remember when the last time someone cared this much was. But it was foolish of him to keep trying, and would be stupid of her to believe him. “If I talk to my dad he’ll understand, and-”

“Now now Yuuto, that’s sweet of you and all, but do you really believe that’ll actually work?” She took a step forward, snickering as he stiffened up and held the gun with much steadier hands. “I think we both know that daddy won’t let off a killer easily just because she’s friends with his boy. Do you think he’ll let you off easily when he finds out that I’ve gotten away so many times because of you?”

She knew she hit a nerve when the gun was lowered just a fraction, his determination wavering at the jabs, knowing, deep down, that it was true. She continued to walk towards him, slow and deliberately, eyes fixed on his face and ignoring the weapon pointed at her head. “You wouldn’t want me to get in trouble, would you?” she asked cutely, tilting her head and pouting in the manner that she had seen numerous girl idols do in magazines. “I told you, that’s why this has to be our little secret…”

The gun pressed against her throat when she stood in front of him, the cold, harsh metal biting into her skin, heart beating heavily and rapidly in her chest because even though she knew, she knew that he’d never kill her, not on purpose, his finger could slip, or something could go wrong- she gambled and played with her life too much, especially when it came to this pup. But she looked into his eyes with no hint of fear, standing so close to him, only the deadly weapon separating them. “I know you like this, Yuuto. Don’t act as though you tag along for some reason other than getting to see me. You can’t lie to me.”

He trembled against her, breaking away from her fierce gaze and looking down at what he was holding. “I could kill you,” he said quietly (even though he knew he wouldn’t), “I should kill you.”

She reached up (he was so tall, it was abnormal and just emphasized the fact that she was a midget) and wrapped her hand around the back of his neck, pulling him down to her height, ignoring the gun wedged between their bodies and the idea that maybe it was a tiny bit exciting that he could kill her at any second now- only because she knew he wouldn’t, of course. “You should have done that the first time I kissed you,” she whispered before she kissed him again.

When she had first met Yuuto he had been quiet, a nice boy but no one special, the son of the chief of police who hadn’t done anything on his own merit yet. He had been a good boy- he was a good boy, the kind that a girl could bring home to her dad. But Suzuka didn’t have a dad, and she didn’t need a good boy. The first time they had kissed (she had kissed him, of course, to shut him up before he could scream for someone) he had been shy and sweet, unsure of what to do and too shocked to do anything, much less scream, when she pulled away and ran for her life. Within a few more kisses she had broken him of that, and despite his words, despite what he should do and could do, he was instead kissing her back, hotly and desperately, knowing she would disappear any second and not wanting her to leave. Her arms were tight around his neck, clinging to him and kissing him with a fervor that would have shocked and shamed her agency- she didn’t want to leave, either. They could have been any normal teenage couple, making out like nothing else mattered in the world.

But a normal teenage boyfriend didn’t hold a gun to his girlfriend’s throat, or make out with her next to dead bodies with police searching the area for her.

Her heightened senses, sharpened to keep her out of trouble and alive, caught it first, and before Yuuto caught wind of the thundering of footsteps of men running around she was already at the window, opening it up and perching on the ledge. “Bye bye, puppy,” she chirped, waving and smiling sweetly, “I’ll be looking forward to seeing you again!” She blew him a kiss and was gone, down the wall and disappearing into the shadows just as the door to the room they had been in banged open. He’d be okay, she knew- his dad would be mad for letting her slip away but forgive him quickly enough, because he was just a kid and wasn’t ready to shoot his first bullet yet. She didn’t know why he let Yuuto come along anyway, but she was glad he did. It was the only way she got to see him.

She didn’t know what it was- love, lust, glee from being able to gloat that the police chief’s son was letting one of their biggest threat escape time after time. But in her heart she couldn’t deny that something about his smile and the look in his eyes did funny things to her. She played with him, but at the end of the day still wanted him, and that was dangerous.

Luckily she had trained her puppy to keep their secret.

Grammar and spelling mistakes should be pointed out so I can eat them.
