Title: Words to Live By (set 3)
Pairing: Yuto x Yamada
Rating: PG ; PG
Warnings: Not angst this time! Short and sweet pieces, written very quickly.
Notes: Written when I was trying to procrastinate from studying and doing homework. I'm a terrible student, I know, but who wants to do work when you're sick? ):
Disclaimer: The boys aren't mine, the quotes aren't mine.

10. I look at them, and they look back with those incredible eyes, smile, and it pathetically makes my entire day.

This day has, for all intents and purposes, sucked so hardcore it makes him wish that the entire year was over. It’s not just the things that went wrong, like forgetting his homework at home or forgetting his lines on set, or being the last one to get the dance step to their new single down (seriously, when Keito can get them faster than he does, there is something wrong). It’s the pressure that keeps crushing him down, and the expectancy to do well, to be perfect. Because he’s suppose to be perfect- he’s Yamada Ryosuke, after all.

He sits down, sinking into the seat, and sighs an inaudible sigh, because no one could ever know that the perfect Yamada Ryosuke actually worries about these things! That he stresses out enough to get a rash over it- heaven forbid THAT would happen, he gets shudders just thinking about it. Sometimes he wonders why he even bothers anymore, why he didn’t quit while he was ahead and live the rest of his life relaxed and-

“Yama-chan, here!”

In surprise Yamada’s head flies up, eyes widening as his hands reflexively reach out to catch the object flying at him- a packet of strawberries. He lifts his head even more to meet dancing bright eyes and crooked teeth wrapped in a perfect smile, and something in him clicks.

“You looked like you could use an energy boost. Eat up, we’ve got work to do!”

Laughter is left behind as Yuto prances off to get ready, and without noticing it Yamada is left smiling as well, because it’s not the strawberries that are going to get him through the day.

49. It's not what I feel for you. It's what I don't feel for anyone but you.

There are some things that have changed. Like, Yuto’s gotten taller (WAY taller, and Yamada has… kind of gotten taller), Yamada’s gotten handsomer (Yuto has, too!), their voices have deepened. They’ve branched out, until Yamada’s spending afternoons on Takaki’s lap and Yuto’s out playing with Daiki, until they aren’t each other’s lives anymore. They have to share each other, and people say they feel bad for them, how tough and harsh debuted life has been to what was once such a sweet and innocent friendship.

And yeah, the sharing hurts, as does the magazine articles and interviews and photo shoots that aren’t them but someone else. And it hurts that Keito knows things Yamada doesn’t know, and that Chinen’s shared more than enough hugs and cuddles with Yamada, but that’s not the point.

The point is that some things never change. Like the way Ryosuke touches their hands together when no one is looking, and whispers witty comments under his breath until they are both fighting to stop giggles from escaping and from drawing even more unnecessary attention to themselves. Or how Yuto runs to tackle Yamada to be the first to greet him with a morning hug.

And definitely not the way Ryosuke presses their lips together, entirely teasing but still slightly shy and with a sweetness that makes Yuto smile and press in harder. Kisses are special and are just for the two of them- Yuto can accept handholding and hugging with someone else, but a kiss he’d never forgive. Ryosuke feels the same, and is probably even more possessive over Yuto’s kisses than Yuto is.

The point is that yeah, they like everyone else, but they don’t love everyone else, not like that, so nothing’s really changed at all.
