Since apparently at least seven people still read this, I'm going to try to use it again from time to time.
So I'm back at school now. I figured that in the four years since I last took a class, everybody had started bringing a laptop to take notes on, but it turns out it was just me and one other guy.
One of my classes is Contemporary American Lit, and I only found out after it was too late that the focus is on writing about Los Angeles. A lot of stuff about that class is pretty awesomely stereotypical of grad-level English -- the syllabus includes the phrase "imaginary (in the Lacanian sense)" and at one point the professor suggested that since the Los Angeles Angels are based in Anaheim, no one can really say whether Los Angeles exists or not.
So that should be fun.
