WoW: Starcaller
Have not done a WoW related post in a bit, but I figured this merited one. Last Thursday me and my guild managed to defeat Algalon!
Right now he is the most difficult fight in the game. Getting to him alone is an extensive task, as you need to get through five Hard Modes in Ulduar first, one of which is tasking down Mimiron.
Algalon is pretty much WoW's equivalent to the Silver Surfer. Both are extremely powerful heralds that go ahead of their masters and also mean doom for the world they visit. To emphasis this, you only have one hour each week to do the fight, after that he leaves. This adds even more stress to trying to learn the fight, as once you start it up, that's it the clock is then running.
Algalon himself hits for a ridiculous amount, I am still not sure how our healers could heal through that. The tanks pretty much have their hands filled. It is not easy for DPS either. The fight has a 6 minute enrage, during which you have to pump out as much damage as possible into him. on top of it there are the various effects that are going on. This includes Black Holes which must be entered during a certain time.

I even made sure to include Algalon's epic speech at the end. As you can see, we barely got him, the final Big Bang at the end looks like it was done more out of spite then anything else. My heart was pounding extremely hard at the end, I was near shaking. Took a bit to calm down. Glad I had a special victory beer waiting for me that I was saving for just such an occasion!
The bad news? His chest bugged, so we could not do the turn in for the really cool event in Dalaran. At least a GM is helping us out there, so I will make sure to get a movie of that too.
