miracles of sunshine
right now there are thousands of people running all over seattle. its not panic folks, its sunshine. almost every person in seattle who owns a pair of running shoes has laced them onto their feet, along with last years short shorts, and has taken to the sidewalks. all the sidewalks. even my drunken little gayborhood is currently being invaded by people who would regularly be enjoying a lovely happy hour at this time, but are instead, running up and down these fabulous hills. usually with a buddy, and often a dog.
also, there is a ray of sunshine shining into my apartment at this very moment. i would venture to guess that there are maybe three days a year (and only minutes on those days) where that is even possible considering the complex geometry and exact sun positioning required for actual direct sunlight to enter my apartment, and its usually cloudy on those days.
so i rejoice in the splendor of sunshine! the prospect of meeting a possibly new friend for a drink. the consumption of salty delicious peanutness, and the finishing of an excellent book lent by a friend on a sunlit lawn. good stuff this sunshine. miraculous really.
