Well, I just saw some footage of DC doing "Hello" last night on the tour, and. I can pretty much die happy now? That remains my absolute favorite perfomance of his from the show, by a mile, and the one that ALL ALONG I really thought he should consider recording and releasing as a B-side for his single (which is the subject for another rant, already made by people more eloquent than me). Maybe it's influenced by my unapologetic love of Lionel Richie already? But I really just think he kills that song; it suits his voice so damn well. (Although, hmm. I'm actually not as much of a fan of his playing guitar for it in the clip as I was on the show.) ANYWAY. DAVID. Record this song, please, thank you, try the fish.
I'm working on the mixtape fic again today -- really trying to just force myself to write, because even though I haven't been completely satisfied with what I've done so far in this "fandom," I know I'm not going to do it any better unless I just get stuff out there. But I also was thinking about my DC fic "wishlist." To wit:

- I want someone who can do long, meaty (ooh, dirty!) fic to write, like, this Cook-focused gen epic that spans the AI season and fanwanks all the random things we heard rumors about, all of DC's decisions on songs, how many times he wanted to kick Jeff Archuleta in the balls, etc., etc.
- I want someone (NOT ME) to write some hotass college!DC fic. Het or slash, I don't even care, but I want frat- and sorority-party shenanigans up the wazoo.
- I want a gen (or, hmm, unrequited DC/DA) fic that takes place during the tour where the Idols all play assassin. OH YES, I DO.
