(Credit card) safety first: lordy. So I got my grandparents' Christmas lists, and because they are crazy, they want gift certificates to their carwash place. So I called and just gave my credit card number to a lady with moderate English skills at best along with my address and just have to hope the damn things get to me and I don't have, like, $ ( Read more... )

Babygirl, you are a STUDENT, and that is therefore completely acceptable.

Hearts, sugar. And also, I am saving your story to read for when I am not so angry at the world. I can't wait. ♥.

But not, apparently, for job interviews, which *sucks* because the only fitting trouser-suit thing I have is fucking beige and I look like a door-to-door saleswomen. "Hello, would you like to buy a hairdryer? :D"

Aww, thank you, baby. ♥

Like, OPEN-TOE strappy sandals???? I ... what?

Of course, I have not worn a pair of stockings since my wedding -- it's bare legs or pantsuits for me -- so maybe I shouldn't judge. About that, at least. :)

Skin, right? Or at least a blue jacket with jeans, which was equally 'um, Dean...?'

Hey, hey. Backpack-over-suitcoat is TRADITIONAL. If I were in a suit-wearing business, I would be totally against this whole "stuff everything in a briefcase that you have to carry by hand" nonsense. Backpacks for all!

And denim jacket and jeans can be hot, on the right guy. Of course, in cases like that, you can't tell whether it's the guy or the clothes...

The first two are heinous, though. I pity you women who wear heels, as you've probably got them in varying heights and only being able to wear certain pants with certain shoes must be a trial.

No. No, no, no. Either go the messenger bag route, or take off your jacket. PERIOD. Nothing else is acceptable!

And, yes, sigh. We do suffer for our wardrobes. But I actually don't mind the suit-hemming thing ... I mean, I'd probably always wear the same shoes with the same suit anyway! So I have my "flats" suit and then my heels suits. Works like a charm. Which is perhaps why it is my biggest pet peeve when other women don't do the same, bleh.

take off your jacket

NOBODY SAID THIS WAS AN OPTION. Given that it is, yes, totally. I mean, god, who would WANT to stay in their suit jacket? Er. Or that could just be me -- my internal temperature tends to run ten to fifteen degrees warmer than everyone else's.

See, when you put it that way, it seems so *simple*. But of course, people in general reject the simple. And so an entire generation of women will commit countless fashion faux pas.
