The spoilery STXII pics meant I just spent an hour re-reading my LJ from the reboot era, and GODDAMN I really like(d) that fandom. I am excite about new canon, and that's even completely independent of Benedict Cumberbatch's presence. (FTR, w/r/t the latter, HOW SKINNY IS QUINTO that BC looks brawny next to him? How does that work?)
Anyway, in doing so I ran across that 10-genres-in-10-snippets meme, which I am now endeavoring to do for Sherlock. Yay!
I've read a couple really good Sherlock fics over the past week, so mayhap a recs post will be forthcoming as well.
Finally, regarding Elementary: I fucking love the shit out of Lucy Liu, so that's cool. Psyched to have confirmation that JLM will be playing Holmes as a transplanted Brit. Actually wouldn't mind if the show turned out to be, more than anything, a retread of The X-Files--in tone, scope, UST, etc. All that said, I am of course a bit wary of the premise of a female Watson to a male Holmes, just because SO MUCH of Watson's character is about being a fangirl of Holmes, and that gets a little weird(er) when they're not the same gender. Anyway. WORTH A SHOT, REGARDLESS.
