...but until I get an official site for this. I present to you my book reviews because I read alot of books in my opinion.
Mountains Beyond Mountains by Tracy Kidder
Pretty good for a school required read but I probably wouldn't have picked it up on my own. It's a journalists writes about his experience type of story. This experience being about a doctor named Paul Farmer who waged a war against disease in poor areas such as Haiti and Peru. If you like Farmer, which I don't see why you wouldn't since he doesn't charge the poor for his services, then you're going to like this book. The best part about this book is that not only do you get the journalists point of view but also others in Farmer's life and those important to Partners in Health. It's amazing to think an organization that began with one man could evolve to affect so many in the world. His work with AIDS treatment and TB in poor areas though not "cost effective" had amazing results and disproved the theory of save as many lives as you can with the money you have. It was more of a save all lives and worry about money later. Probably the closest thing you'll get to a living saint. The only things I thought were boring was when the book started focusing on other people for a long period of time instead of Farmer. I would give the book about a 3/5 for me personally but if you're into non-fiction medical stuff then 4/5.
