S is for storytime!
I love my job.
That's me in the red rocking chair, at our Halloween storytime. Our library is the second busiest in Georgia and storytimes often have 75-90 guests. Last weekend, at our Dr. Seuss spectacular, 176 people showed up! We are smack in the middle of about 15 neighborhoods just north of Atlanta so there are tons of kids nearby. Youth Services is the happening place to be.
I started here after working for a much sleepier library system. I giggled at my first public performance here when they handed my a Brittney Spears head mic. I was like "Really? For storytime? You have to be kidding me!" But...we seriously need them!
When people want to say that libraries are obsolete I challenge them to come to mine. Some things you just can't get on your iPad!
