I've been meaning to share these pictures!
We spent the Fourth in southern Kentucky on Dale Hollow Lake. It was gorgeous there - cool, clear water, a gentle breeze and a high of 85 degrees during the day. We stayed at my Aunt Mary Jo and Uncle Danny's cabin. They are from Illinois. My mom and dad joined us too.
The lake is a state park so it's very unspoiled. There are no docks cluttering up the shoreline, just miles and miles of green Blue Ridge foothills reflected in the sparkling lake. We'd zip around on the ski boat for a while, the, drop anchor in a secluded cove when we wantedto swim. We splashed, looked for fossils in the shale shoreline, then climbed back on the boat and had a picnic. Sam loved driving the boat and honking the horn and Peanut loved the water. She was a total little mermaid - she was pruny for hours! By the end of the day we were all sun kissed and sleepy. That last pic is the Baby Man asleep on me in his life preserver as we headed back to the State Dock.
It was a blessing of a trip and ended all too soon.
