Comic-Con - The Autographs

Jul 29, 2008 19:55

It's amazing what one goes through just to get a scribble on a piece of paper or magazine or whatever.
Part of the allure of Comic Con are the LINES. Constant lines for everything. And lines to meet and get an autograph from your favorite star are killers. Not to mention expensive for the ones you have to pay for.
So, anyways, I got autographs from GDL and JB -- TWICE (cha-CHING). At first, I had them sign two photos I bought from their booth. But after thinking about it, I had a Torchwood t-shirt that I made that I bought along to wear that I thought should have been signed. So, I coughed up more money to have them sign it. Naoko's autograph was free and she commented on how cool it was!

Other autographs I got were two of the cast from Primeval and the baddie from the last season of "24".
Also got Steven Moffat's autograph on a copy of DWM that I happen to bring with me because I haven't finishied reading it! Now I don't know if I'll ever finish it!

I really wanted to get Simon Pegg's autograph, but luck wasn't on my side. I didn't get a winning ticket to stand in line to get his. :(
(But I got pics!!! Pics to come!)

Gotta show off my stuff.

My most prized possession from the Con -- the autographed t-shirt that I literally took off my back for them to sign! All I need are Eve's and Burn's!

The baddie dude from Season 6 of "24". He was so nice in person. I wish I had more things to say to him when I met him!

Juliet Aubrey and Karl Theobald signed my Primeval postcard (that were given away at the BBC America booth.)
Their panel session was kinda boring, but I think that comes from not having a producer from the show with them. Both of them were very nice.

I fretted at which pic to get of GDL. I ended up getting this cool Ianto one. HAD I KNOWN, the next day, there were a ton more to choose from! WTF! Why wasn't it available on the first day when they had the people come by and see them??? Anyways, should have had him personalize for me. But those dang people at the booth were so strict with their rules. (HAD I KNOWN TO WAIT, that rule relaxed as the days went on!)

JB's auto. He was always mobbed for an autograph. He personalized mine, then he told his manager Gavin to tell people he won't be personalizing stuff and it was his job to tell them that. Whoops! Didn't know that! But, like I said, I think the next day, the rules relaxed as the diehard fans were all there on Thursday to see him.

And finally, Steven Moffat signed my DWM. (Side note: His first column that RTD usually writes is in this issue -- what's it called? "Production Notes"?) He was funny even after hours of signings. (He was at the official panel signing, then he was at the BBC America booth signing. Not to mention he was on the panel earlier in the day!)
