(no subject)
Sunday afternoon I hung out with Francesca, and then I thought I lost my Campus Access card (our ID and meal card)...which costs $15 to replace, but luckily someone found it and turned it in and no money was spent off of it or anything.
Then we hung out with the boys on Beck 4...we are there way too often, but they are one floor below and some of the coolest and hottest people we know... we have gotten to know them so well that we even give them advice about there girlfriends, and anything like that. We started a group called the Beck 4 Girls (also known as the Whores of Beck 4, but we don't use that as much, it's because both me and francesca both have boys on the 4th floor. I am with Sunni, and she is with Boomer -real name James...-but yeah we got a couple of our gay friends to join too, its HILARIOUS...Brian is known as the whore, he's funny, he is from New York City, but I'll talk about him later..), and a lot of people are joining, YEAH. So yeah... continuing on...We then ordered some food and hung out and watched American Wedding together...
So Sunni's roommate is an awesomely cool person, his name is Raul, and he is AMAZING at DDR. One of those people who can do the doubles well too... He also gives the best massages because his mom is a professional massage therapist...He is also a great person for advice, when ever me and francesca and any of the other girls want advice about boys and things of sort he is a good person to talk too...very nice...as long as we help him in return with any girl issues he may have :)
Sunni is teaching me how to breakdance since I already knew the basic moves... I am becoming good friends with the people he breakdances with as well, they are VERY good and are in very good shape. So I started classes yesterday, and all my classes are going great...On Monday I only have two classes, YEAH!!! Then on tues. and weds. its kind of average. On Thursday it's madness, I go from 9AM to 3PM of direct classes with only a 15 min break between each one, i don't know when I'm going to eat! On Friday I only have one class and that is at 1:25 PM, best schedule ever... Thursday is our late late laundry night because Francesca has the same schedule and if you do it late at night there is no crowds. My classes are:
- English (L141): Introduction to Writing and Study of Literature: Victorian Monsters: This is a really exciting class, we are reading Frankenstien and Dracula. My professor is an awesome person, and she has the BEST english accent, she also loves harry potter and monty python. She's written like a 4 books as well. I have talked to her out of class, great person to talk to.
- Math (M212): Calculus II: My professor is a nice guy, but I can't exactly say that its an exciting class, math is not incredibly exciting but at least I understand it so far.
- Biology (H111): IFLE Advanced Biology: This is a cool class, because it has the people I was with this summer, but it has allready start to become REALLY REALLY intense and we have only had two classes. Luckily I will learn A LOT though.
- Geology (G111): Physical Geology: Just added the class, because it is ussually just a sophmore and above class , but because I have studied geology and paleontology over the summer I was able to get in. On weds. we have a 4 hour class which is outside field work :)...YEAH, FUN!!!
Yesterday afternoon I spent my time in classes, then finishing unpacking my room... We hung out with Sunni, Raul, Matt, Boomer, Ty, and Will watching some TV but it was more of a girls night. Girl's Night = Me, Francesca, Sara, and Brian; DVD of Casablanca, and Oreos with Peanut Butter. Oh, but Brian had an audition for the musical, I hope it went well, we were all going to have dinner tonight together out (probably sushi), but if he he gets the part he wont be able too So this is one of the only times where I hope he'll call and cancel :)
Today I had a normal day of classes, more introduction stuff, but starting to get some homework :(...oh well, I knew it was coming.
IT IS RAINING SOOOOOOOO HARD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It is because Hurricane Katrina is coming through... It was supposed to rain for the next three days but the winds shifted east, SORRY ANNA!!! But its still raining and it started this morning and its ending tommorow morning. But it rained so much already, and our campus is in the middle of two hills so al the water comes here. There is also a river running though campus, and it overflowed from being a 4-5 ft wide river to a 10-15 ft wide river, and there a huge lakes where there shouldn't be. Some of the sidewalks I usually use to get to classes are under about 1-2 ft. of water, and there are rivers flowing down the streets...it was awful, and i didn't have an umbrella to get to classes, so each one i was sopping wet and cold :( I had to change clothes 3 times, some of my books got wet, NOOOOOOO!!!
So, its cool, Nick (Swider) is thinking of going here, like its his FIRST CHOICE, I'm sooooooo excited. It would be cool for someone else from USM to come here, besides that I am becomeing a recruiter for Indiana and it would be really good for me. This year in fact I'm paying a visit back ther to give a presentation about IUB and how you should go there. I really mean it too, this is the best school I could have imagined. Also, I've talked with his mom before about it because she went there, and it has a new school of Informatics, one of only a couple in the US, and ours has the biggest budget and the best programs (besides some select ones in England...but I told him I could give him and his parents a tour of the campus if they came down here, and Anna could even come down at the same time and visit if she wanted, that would be claser then Milwaukee!!! Sooo......... I have to stop talking.... I have to go eat, see if Brian got in the musical.....visit Sunni...do some homework......email the Field Hockey and Ultimate Frisbee coaches......email teachers.......call my mom......too many things....
