Birthday, this year.

I bet you all thought that I'd never update this thing, huh? Well, here we go. My birthday was sunday. Yep, I'm 15 now and I thought that I'd update on what's been happening since my last birthday.
June 2005. I turned 14. I got an iPod mini for my birthday (and sure enough, 3 months later, Apple releases the iPod Nano--figures, oh well). Anyway, in July, I went on vacation with the family down to the Cape--big surprise. We did the usual-boat, golf, mini golf, cape league game, swimming, etc. Naturally, I couldn't wait to come home and see more people who are actually my own age a.k.a. my friends. i worked on summer reading a lot because the school never give good easy books to read. First off, they assign books older than I am, and then give dumb reports to go with them.
So, we've made it to August. Jess came down to the Cape with me for a weekend, and we had so much fun. August went by too quickly for my liking and September approached all too fast. By then, school had started along with my freshmen year at highschool (one of the kids in my history class said that they call freshmen freshmeat in Alaska lol, yep everyone had the same reaction), but it wasn't that bad. So anyway, the year started off well, with the exception of a few issues in math, but I worked those out. I figured that started the year off with a gold card was a good sign. I had joined student council and echo club.
So, fast foward to November, around the time of the Harvest Ball. I was asked to go by one of my brother's friends who would become my first boyfriend. It was fun while it lasted but five months later, I broke up with him. One of my better decisions if I don't say so myself. Why? 1. We never really had anything in common. 2. He was wayy too sensitive and too clingy. and 3. He was so upset that it only took him about a week and a half to get a new girlfriend. And did I mention that he was not very kind to me while he was writing in his LJ after we broke up? See what I mean by good decision? Well, I would just like to tell him one thing--Have a nice life!
Anyway, Christmas was good. I got an iHome for my iPod, and I was happy because I got to see some of my family that I hadn't seen in a while. However, my Christmas vacation was spent writing a term paper on Stem Cell research. Blah!
Then in January--I think--second sememster started and with it the worst class that I've ever had. History with possibly the most unfair teacher that I've ever had. Apart from nearly bringing some of my friends to tears, he single handedly made most of his students dread going to his class everyday. He also earned the pleasure of meeting several angry parents, including mine. Did I mention that he called me Megan during the conference? Oh yes.
So, at last minute, I decided to switch from Spanish to Latin, in order to make school a bit more interesting. In February, I went with my family to Worcester Polytechnical Institute and must admit that I liked what I saw. We'll skip over March, considering that nothing exciting happened in this month.
In April, I tried out for softball and made the freshmen team. It wasn't a bad season--7-7. I also played for my intown team the Athletics and by the way, we successfully tied for last place and were one and done in the playoffs. Whoo hoo!
Moving on to May. There was a flood in town resulting in no school for a day. I started counting down the days to when we wouldn't have history any more.
Looks like we finally caught up with the present. For my birthday, I got DDR, money, and a gnome(yes i know, random). With another summer starting, I can't wait. Whats in the future you ask? Two weeks down the Cape, a week in Nantucket, and a whole lot of other things, good or bad, I don't know nor do I want to. Looking back on the past year, I've seen that good things have happened and some bad things happened too, but I wouldn't change a thing. So, I hope I didn't bore you, lol, and until the next time that I update (most likely a year from now)...
