When advertising and programming clash

When I walked into my doctor's office this afternoon, the TV in the waiting room was playing some show about women who murder their husbands. After it ended, the next program was about men who murder their wives. During the first commercial break, ads were played for eHarmony.com, birth control pills, toothpaste, and a woman's "personal groomer" complete with suggestively trimmed topiaries.
