Hahaha, actually, I don't know why the chick screamed. They made it seem like it was some sort of freaky monster baby, but from what was revealed a little bit later, it was just a human baby that grew abnormally fast. So fast, it grew to adult size and died of old age in 4 hours, umbilical cord still attached.

What was really horrific about the delivery was the scripting. OMG, it was worse than a B-grade horror movie. The woman was in distress so they're trying to hold her down, then someone says, "we've got to get this baby out of her now." Right after that, someone says, "there's no time for anesthetic!" Um, yeah, right. In any other show where a patient freaks out, someone shows up with a giant hypodermic, jabs 'em in the arm, and they're out in 3 seconds.

But right as the guy brings up the scalpel, there's a horrible crunching noise and the woman goes completely still. Everyone stares for a few seconds, then they slice her open and pull out the baby. Then there's more staring and finally the screaming that you witnessed.

Oh, and later, someone says that the baby was born 2 minutes after his mother died. More like 10 seconds.

I'm not sure, but I think it was her spine getting snapped.
