I'm not sure. He left a note and left his Pokemon at the inn in Cherrygrove.

[He spots the Dark Cave, that would be his next destination. He pauses for a moment and sighs heavily.]

It... it was the nightmares, Zidane. It took so long to break him from his hallucinations and he...

[He tugged the scarf around his neck, revealing the bruises shaped like fingers. Squall had attacked him.]

We doubt he went back to New Bark Town, I'm on Route 30 heading to the Dark Cave, Cecil is not far behind me. Light is looking around the City just in case.
