hehe, sleeping "schedule"? What be that? It's about 5AM now and I've been up for a few hours now. Today me and the wifey went with
tongue_x, his wifey
chocolate_x, and
pannath to Transformers. I wasn't quite sure we was gonna go today. Me and the wifey were up really late Friday night. I was under the impression from tongue_x that the movie was after 1PM. It wasn't until just after we went to bed that the wifey told me that chocolate_x said it was more like 11AM. I decided that I didn't care that much. If we slept in and missed it, we'd just go anther time. No biggie. We ended up getting a call at about 11AM telling us that it's at 11:45AM. So we got up, I had a quick shower (I was in dire need of one). Another call informed us that they were hitting the noon showing instead, other calls told us that my brother in-law Josh was gonna go too. He originally called for help getting his net turned on. I just happened to mention Transformers and it turned out that he was trying to get online to check when the movie was playing. So we went.
While I was waiting in line for tickets Brian Pitner came up to me and asked if I was going to Transformers. I said yes, he handed me a ticket and said, "Merry Christmas." One of his gang didn't show so he had an extra ticket. Sweet deal. So I bought a second ticket for the wife and she bought pop-corn. Then we watched the movie.
Great flick. Totally worth going to the theater for. 2 thumbs up for sure. I have never been a Transformers fan and I found it thoroughly enjoyable. The others I went with liked it to. Very well done. It's rare when one of these 80's nostalgia flicks appeals to both old school fans and new to the series type folks. I've only heard 1 bad review of the show and that was from some guy at work. I now know that his movie tastes do not mirror my own or that of any like minded individual.
After the flick we had an hour to kill before heading to Thea's wedding reception like thingy/BBQ at her parents' place. So I decided to pop a tire. That's a good time waster. Ok, it wasn't intentional, but it did waste the time. It happened as I was leaving the theater. There's some construction going on with the street by the theater. They had cut a chunk outa the cement boulevard and the edges were not rounded at all. I had the remainder of my root beer in one hand and the steering wheel in the other and I nicked the corner of the boulevard with my left back tire (let this be a lesson. Don't drink and drive). I heard the tire hissing the air out so I quickly handed my drink to Sylina and pulled over while I still had some air left. There was some adventure involving my donut and the 50 pounds of gravel that it had somehow acquired over the time it had been there. With the help of Sylina's grandpappy I ended up just buying a new tire and using that instead of the donut. When we were done we headed to the BBQ.
The BBQ was OK. We didn't stay too long. We had purchased hard drives the day before (500GB SATAs) and were in need of new power supplies to run the crazy things. So we went to OTV, got them and went home to drop them off. We ended up staying home and falling asleep shortly there after. I woke up a few hours ago, checked my email, went for coffee with
pannath and came home.
Sylina just installed her new power supply and hard drive and is getting the same problem I was getting that we diagnosed as needing a new power supply. It boots as far as starting to load windows and freezes. *sigh* means I'll prolly get the same thing. Ain't lookin' forward to that. Will be nice once I finally do get this thing in. If I can manage to keep all my hard drives installed it'll put me at 1TB of storage on this old thing. That aughta tide me over for a little while.
Anyways, I'm outa here. Gonna research this thing and see if we can get these bad boys running.
Adios.
