Hestia must have heard my plea. The kitchen sink is in, plumbing is all hooked up and working so all that's left to do is screwing the counter top to the cabinets and running some caulk around the sink! Wheeeeee! Actually, there's still plenty to do before the whole kitchen is finished, but this means we can cook and clean again.
still might be some tweaking to get the drawer faces all lined up, but check out those 30" wide DEEP drawers. No more flailing with my short arms to reach the stuff in the back of the cabinet anymore *squee* Also note sexy new counter top
Toby has dubbed this the worst DIY project so far. The cabinet was too small for this big deep sink. MUCH fiddle-fucking around to get it in. MEH!

And let's just give credit where credit is due. I? did almost nothing to get this sink in because really? there is a point where my help, isn't really help. T is the MAN!
I spent a good few hours in the feral garden - planted some neglected roses, weeded the lemon balm "ground cover" out of the vegetable beds and then harvested a LOT of goodies -last of the snap peas, mesclun, beets, zucchini, a big whack of basil (oooh - pesto!!!) , the last of the carrots and a couple of deformed (thanks a lot, slugs!) kholrabi. Slugs ate trails across the kholrabi when they were small and though they calloused over and taste just fine, they are look like those Ugli dolls:

I also made a trip to the fabric store for some cotton duck to make trial banners out of. My plan is to make wool felt ones, but T thought some quickie trial onew would be a good idea. This way we can decide whether or not we like them or want to change them a bit before I spend 50 hours of handwork on them. This also makes it highly likely they will be done for September Crown. Sweet! If I have time, I'll actually make some horsehair/sheep guard hair tassels to bling them out, and then take them off and use them on the final product. A project, 5 years in the making is finally starting to take shape...imagine that.
