So I am bored. On like Tuesday or Wednesday I got sick, but like usual I figured it would go away. I had a headache and some sore throat, and some body aches. No big deal, it will be gone in a couple days. Well Thursday afternoon my asthma started acting up. And it just kept getting worse. I went to sleep sometime after one, I'm not sure exactly one because I did one of those passing out at the keyboard then sleep walking, if you want to call it that. To explain, I turned off my computer, my light, got my covers out of my closet, removed my socks and placed them next to my door to remind myself to put them in the dirty clothes in the morning. I can only assume that I did this in my sleep because 1) I don't remember it and 2) when I told my mom about it she said it wasn't her. Anywho I then woke up at 3 or 3:30 having because in a dream I was coughing, which I really was. Well then I started having really bad asthma problems. I took my nebulizer treatment, and after about an hour and a half I was calming down enough to sleep. If I don't eat something before or shortly after my treatment the medicine can make me kind of jittery like. It seemed just like as soon as the jitteriness went away the asthma came back. So I was up all morning long doing treatments every two hours for about six hours, which is when my mom called and said she talked to my doctor and he said just to come in and he would squeeze me in as soon as he could. Well after about an hour of waiting my asthma was acting up really bad again. The nurse taking my pulse and what not got concerned because she could hear my wheezing so she got me some water and that helped a little. And this is when the bouncing around starts. First they sit me in a chair waiting for a room to open up, then they take me in the room, then they decide no lets take care of his asthma first and then do the rest of the check up. Well what I had not realized about my insurance through work is that it does not cover preexisting condition for the first year, which really sucks seeing as I have asthma since I was an infant. More bouncing around. Back into a patient room I go, the doctor sees me and says that he wants to do the usual asthma check. This includes measuring my lung capacity, doing a chest x-ray, then a nebulizer treatment, and then the lung capacity and x-ray again for comparison. So back to the chair I go, and they are trying to figure out what to do, they cannot treat my asthma because that is not covered by my insurance. Well they had by this time figured I had the flu and because of the horrible wheezing they could do an x-ray and just saying they were doing an exam. Actually my wheezing got so bad it resembled that eerie sound you hear in movies when they are out and the woods and the wind is blowing through trees. A lady sitting five feet from me told me she was having problems breathing just listening to me wheeze. Well seeing as how this doctor has been my parents doctor for a long time, long enough that the doctor and his wife have seen me and my brother grow up, she decided she would go ahead and give me the nebulizer treatment on the side to help me breathe a bit better for the time being. After the treatment is when I get the lovely news that besides the flu, which they were sure I had, they also figure I have some bronchitis going on as well. Both of which were just playing horrible games on my asthma. So they send me home with two prescriptions I must get and one to get if it gets worse. I tried to get them filled at Wal-Mart, but they don't take my insurance, so I just went home because I was tired and having troubles breathing. The two lessons I learned today are, 1) I should get a flu shot every year because I have asthma and that puts me at a higher risk of catching it (thanks for that doc), 2) my insurance sucks...although I have been feeling a little better, but no one really calls or visits so I am so bored, I watched movies all morning long and till about 2 or 3. Then it was games with squirrel and chump. This was followed by more sitting, and now I am here...oh wait sitting some more. What really sucks is that I have so much energy right now from laying around all day and I have nothing to do with it, so I started typing this and now I am almost done, and I have already played with Photoshop, my emulators and I am basically not feeling like watching another movie by myself. Oh well maybe I will build a plane and jump out of it......or not.
