Gahhhh . . . slow morning at the office . . .
At least this gives me plenty of time to check e-mail, see if there's anything new on a few of my favorite bands' websites, read the news on CNN.com, check e-mail again, wait two minutes, then check e-mail again. ROCK.
I actually wanted to post because I have something interesting to post that happened this morning. I spent the night at home in Marietta Sunday night and last night so I was driving into work on 120 from there on Monday and today. This morning I witnessed two events while I was driving that I remember distinctly also seeing occur on Monday morning. It wasn't like, Hey, I got stopped at the same traffic light the other day. One, there were a ton of "right ends ahead," "merge left," flashing arrow signs, etc. as you near an area where they're working on the side of the road. But some people wouldn't merge over because (as I learned on Monday) they hadn't put out the big orange cylinder things yet (because there wasn't work being done on the actual road) and they could just pass everyone who had merged into one lane for no reason yet. But both mornings as I was driving right past, the construction workers put out the first orange cylinder thing. The second thing was that I saw this hunter green Jeep Grand Cherokee with a W sticker and the most ridiculous lift and tires that I've ever seen on a JCG before turn (rather recklessly I might add) into a drive right as I was driving past. Not necessarily the most thrilling events in and of themselves, but for different reasons they just stood out in my mind on Monday morning, and then this morning I saw the very same things happen again. And I left at a little different time this morning too. It was made me think, How many different things had to be in place this morning for me to witness those two very same events? If I hadn't sped through that yellow light rather than stopping. If I hadn't forgotten my bag in my room and had to run back inside. If I hadn't watched the extra news story. If I hadn't stayed up last night working on my project, making me lie in bed an extra minute this morning. If the construction worker's daughter hadn't needed her diapers changed this morning. If the guy in the Jeep hadn't stopped for breakfast at McDonald's. How many entirely unique events brought me to this very same point for the second time? It's mind-boggling. Butterfly effect.
Well, the boss just walked by so I'd better hop to it. (At least I'm not slacking off and getting paid for it, right? Internships = no $.)
Catch you cool cats later. I'll post some pictures from Cuba when I get a chance. Hasta!
