An Update!

You are transitioning into the four-year-old's classroom this week. I'm not sure how I feel about that yet. You don't seem to like it, and I'm not sure I do either. Your new teacher doesn't give me warm fuzzies. But then it was so hard to leave Ms. Kathy, and now it's hard to leave Ms. Karli too. They were both wonderful with you. At the same time, I'm glad that you are moving on. Progress and growth is good. It won't be long until you're leaving pre-school for kindergarten!

This morning in the car you said "Daddy used to take me to school all of the time, and pick me up too." I answered that I almost always take you, and Daddy picks you up. So you clarified it by saying the "Daddy used to take me when he had the green truck." Just another example of your excellent memory. We sold that truck when you were not even two and half years old. That was almost two years ago, and you remember it? Wow.

On the way to school we listened to music on the radio for a little while and then you said you wanted to talk. I asked you what you wanted to talk about and you said "When Littlefoot's mommy died." You've been thinking about death a lot lately. Sometimes you even make up little songs about it. They don't make a lot of sense, but I catch "dead" and "died" in them sometimes. I guess it's just your way of trying to process something that is not even clear to us "grown-ups." You've also been a little concerned recently about hamburgers. You found out that people kill cows to make hamburgers, and I don't really think you're okay with that. Make it dinosaur meat and you'll gobble it up though, heheh.

So, some heavy stuff to process there. Thankfully there are a lot of fun times in the life of a four-year-old too, and we are all enjoying those. :)
