random update type affair!!
I really wish I hadn't offered to work an extra shift today. I am shattered beyond belief...my alarm went off at 6:30 but I "accidentally" got the snooze and off buttons mixed up!! I ended up getting here at 9am when I should have started at 8:30, still couldn't be helped...Sshhhhh!...I SAID it couldn't be helped. It didn't help that I didn't get to sleep until the early hours but there was a good reason for that, a very good reason. I stayed up chatting to a wonderful person, so it was time well spent! ;-P
Yesterday was my day off so I wanted to make it as productive as always...so I went to the cinema twice to see the same film. I promised my best mate I'd go and see Superman Returns with him but I'd also promised a friend from college. We were all meant to go together but there was a clash of schedules and it couldn't be done. I went to the 2pm showing with my mate and then met my college friends at 7:30pm to see it again. Like a dick I left my wallet in the cinema during the first showing and I had to explain to the manageress woman what a dipstick I was...there had been another showing since we'd been in but, unbelievably, my wallet was still there...as was my ice-cream carton. So all I can say is, thank god for underpaid shoddy staff!! I had my cash on me and my bank cards can easily be cancelled but I didn't want to lose my cinema pass!!! I pay £10.99 a month and can see as many films as I want at any time...with it costing me £5.80 a showing without out it, its a bargain...have I harped on about this before? I can't remember but loving films its one of my best ever investments. I watch films I wouldn't normally see, like Atomised on Monday night, and films I like on multiple occasions, like Superman twice yesterday...oh yes and today. I also promised my little sister I'd see it with her so I'm going tonight. Tomorrow I'm going to watch the new Jennifer Aniston movie, The Breakup or something like that.
Random point...One of the women at work has been phoning around all morning to get childcare for her son. The school told her this morning that for the next three days the school will be closing at mid-day because...are your ready for this...its too hot! If thats not teachers trying to swing the leg then I don't what is!! This country really is pathetic. Schools shut cos its too cold, cos its too snowy, cos its too warm, cos its to "just right!" How bizarre can we actually get...the best thing is, a school just around the corner is opening normally, but I guess they get a different kind of sun...I know thats as dull as it is random but with this being my journal I'll stick what I want in it!!
