I managed to pass my probation at work, which means I get a (small) pay rise. Every little helps.
I'm still not getting on much better with my flatmate, but Rowland (the guy upstairs) and I have made a pact to ignore him when he gets too much of a nuisance, and not let it ruin our time here (Desert Dueler's advice).
On the search for a cute Japanese girl, I took the plunge, and handed my e-mail and phone number to one of the cute students at the branch I sometimes cover; my justification is that the gesture was clearly not unwelcome, and that she's not one of my regular students. Still, it's crossing the line of sleaziness. Oh well.
We're entering the stormy season here, so I have wall-to-wall rain storms to look forward to. Mind you, I only ever get to see the outdoors when it's my day off, so it's not much of a loss there.
