People will be swing dancing tonight. I would be too if it weren't for a number of reasons.

Well I've really gone and done it this time. I spent all of last week on my mom's couch since I knocked over my knee cap while loading the car up to go see her. It didn't start to get better until seven days into not being able to move when I tripped on the crutches, which scared the crap out of me (not literally) but seemed to pop things back into place. For the most part. Now I just need to teach my brain how to tell my leg to work, and wait for the rest of the swelling to go away and my ligaments to decide not to be so stretchy and unstable. When I went into the clinic a few days ago, I could not use my left quadricep. Now I can hold my leg at 25 degrees, and move it up and down a little more than that on its own. I guess if you don't use that muscle for three weeks, it takes six MONTHS in the gym to get it back, making it one of the most rapidly atrophying muscles in the body. That is bad news for me.

SO I can almost walk but it is pretty pathetic to say the least. I feel like spending time with friends but I don't know where they are or if I even had any around here.

This whole thing has at the very least gotten me to slow down and shave things off of my (lately) usually very regimented schedule. It was fun to babysit with my mom! Nice to have an extra pair of hands (and legs) for once. Single mothers of three, I salute you.

I didn't mention the worst part!! It is: I have had nearly NO PAIN throughout this entire ordeal. AND I got up right after I fell and walked with only a slight limp to the mailbox, through two stores, BUT by the time I got to my mom's I couldn't even get out of the truck. I think if it isn't even going to HURT then I should be able to USE my leg, at least. End.
