Back from the Dominican Republic and life is beautiful!! I so didn't want to come home, and I'm going to miss everyone - the boys from the orphanage and the friends I made on my team - like crazy. It's sad. Johan has already called me twice from the Dominican Republic to tell me how much he misses me.
Ha, and I'm such a mess right now. My ailments are many and amusing; I can't believe just how awful I've been the last couple days. I can't hear out of my left ear - haven't been able to for four days now because of getting water in it or something, I have a right black eye, the left inside of my mouth is swollen and sore from who-knows-what, and I can barely open my mouth wide enough to fit in a Dum Dum lollipop without it hurting, and when I do open it wider my jaw has been locking up on me which hurts insanely, I have bruises and scratches on my right shoulder and the top right side of my head from being thrown over a small wall, the right side of my neck is sore as well as my right bicep, my back has been killing me, I have lead in my left pointer finger from being stabbed with a pencil, I had stomach-aches galore as well as an asthma attack on the plane, the inside of my thighs and the top of my chest is massively bruised like blood vessels popped from going off the high dive like dear Terry suggested, I've an assortment of smaller bruises all over my arms and legs, and I am COVERED in mosquito bites and small scratches from myself itching them. You know you had fun when you come home like that and can't wait to go back again. =D
Nertz is a new favorite card game; nerds are awesome; nerds who play vocabulary games for fun, explain and dissect The Matrix for three hours from one to four in the AM, know how to four-step, lose "the game" constantly, and sing songs and quote movies for everything said are even cooler; I now have a fifteen year-old, six-foot something brother and a fourteen year-old, inches-taller-than-me uncle in the DR; I made Jackie Chan a new hero at the orphanage, Esperanza orphanagae boys have amazing musical ability; little boys who throw rocks can turn out to be the most amazing people and greatest reasons to praise God; pig ears don't taste so bad; snorkeling guides can be creepy men; climb a tree, make a friend; one swing was meant for two; it never rains unless you're crying; Senorita Mala is not an insult; a friend who speaks no Spanish, eight Dominican boys, late nights, hyperness, and me makes for the best hours of laughter ever. Highlights of my trip. Hope you all had awesome lives while I was gone. =)
