my thoughts on "a child called it"

but what bothers me
(11:02:13 PM): is not that oh, lots of people have read the book, and oh, it's so good, and oh it was so sad
ALBINO PIG QUEEN 11:02 pm
(11:02:37 PM): is that the majority, probably me also, will forget about it in a week
ALBINO PIG QUEEN 11:03 pm
(11:03:33 PM): eh
(11:03:34 PM): but really
(11:03:52 PM): for a week, people will be all kind and thankful for the life they have
(11:03:59 PM): and then they'll revert to old habits
ALBINO PIG QUEEN 11:04 pm
(11:04:47 PM): to say it frankly, though it's got a negative connotation
(11:04:54 PM): mankind is self centered
ALBINO PIG QUEEN 11:05 pm
(11:05:13 PM): but it honestly isn't possible to be empathizing with
(11:05:18 PM): all the problems in the world
(11:05:33 PM): we live our life and that's that
(11:05:51 PM): are we apathetic?
(11:06:02 PM): is it mandatory that we care?
(11:06:18 PM): half of the time, I think it's just guilt tripping
(11:06:36 PM): but the other half, I think we could come out of our own little world a bit more
ALBINO PIG QUEEN 11:07 pm
(11:07:41 PM): but then it seems like everybody's pointing a finger at somebody else
(11:07:49 PM): but I don't think it's anybody's fault
(11:08:11 PM): which is what david pelzer was really brave to do... to forgive
(11:08:29 PM): because nothing is really ever anybody's fault, I don't think

but yea, even if it's only rattling in my consciousness for a short period of time, or other peoples' consciousnesses, it does make a difference now that I've read it, of course, and I hope it inspires people to be better people if only for a day. or if somebody's experiencing their deepest darkest moment, they'll remember to forgive and forget.

my god, I'm so thankful for everything I have. perhaps, if I feel daring enough, I will follow the route of a social worker one day...
