(no subject)
Thursday I went to see Dr. Hollsten on Thursday to check the fit of my prosthesis. He thinks it looks great and has awesome movement. He said he can tell that I have lost fat on my eyelid and Jean can fix that by adding a little to the prosthesis to make it thicker near the top so the lid sits open more. He also said that the contour of my lid had changed and if I want to in 6 months or so I can have him fix both lids to match since he's a cosmetic eye surgeon as well. I don't think that's something I'm too worried about. I don't particularly want to go through another surgery any time soon. Plus since it would most likely be deemed aesthetic the insurance company wouldn't cover it. I don't need another medical bill. We are still paying off the last surgery. Each one (there have been 3 in less than a year's time) has cost us over $1000 a piece, with insurance. o_O
After my appointment I headed back to work. Misty called with less than an hour before her shift asking for April's number to see if she could work for her. I told her I didn't have the number, it was locked in the office and Moe wasn't there, besides April has 3 kids you can't expect her to work on such short notice. I asked Misty what was wrong with her and she said she was sick "throwing up blood all day and was sick from her meds." Gee you'd think she would have gone to the hospital. I said to her I thought she'd gone to the doctor's on Monday (I had to at short notice rearrange the schedule for her) and why wasn't she sick Monday night or Tuesday (her day off). She said she did go but hadn't picked up her meds until that day and they were making her sick. I asked her why she didn't call sooner if she'd been sick all day. She said she had only picked them up 2 hours earlier (around 3pm). She ended up coming in at 5 when she was suppose to but Moe sent her home at 7:30 because she was soo whiney. She wasn't too sick to be smoking cigarettes while I was there. I'm done with her. She's pulled this shit before. I sent her home one day and ended up being the manager and only cashier (usually during the day there are 2 cashiers and a manager) because she was "sick". Didn't call ahead to let anyone know, just whined the whole time. Again she wasn't too sick to be drinking sweet tea and smoking cigarettes. I sent her home 15 minutes later because she was useless.
Friday Worked the early shift so I was off by 2. It was pretty slammed for lunch and I was training the new girl Laura. She's doing well. Both newbies are working with the loon Misty tonight. I've talked to almost everyone at work, asked for their honest opinion, they all think she's insane, paranoid, and super defensive. I warned the new girls about her. I told them she's not their boss. Yes, they are new and aren't sure of how to do certain things and Misty should help them, but Misty is not to push them around. I really want Misty gone. I even made 2 schedules.
After work I brought Ed a Sam's® Chopped BBQ Sandwich Special™. He took the day off and cleaned up the office. I actually sat around and relaxed. During the evening we went to the Dollar Cinema™, even though it's now a dollar fifty, and saw Van Helsing. We missed the first 10-15 minutes so it may have had a better storyline if we actually saw the entire film but I doubt it. It was quite cheesy. The action and special effects were okay but the plot kinda blew. It had so much potential. Oh well. It was only $3.00, plus another $2.50 for the drink. I brought snacks.
Today Aurra woke us up with her barking at 7am. After I let them out for their morning pee I brought them into bed with us for the rest of the morning. We got up around 9:30 and picked up Tom to paint my new BMX frame. It is awesome. It looks dark purple with a silver flake. It almost looks black when the light's not hitting it. I have the coolest bike. While the paint was cooling we went to lunch at a little Mexican restaurant in Universal City. The rest of the day we didn't do much, took a nap, walked the dogs, watched Raising Arizona and now I'm making chicken and dumplings. It's cooling right now. Mmmmmm I can smell it.
I don't think we're going to do anything tonight. I was going to go with mrobenee_kelley to Kari's house but she usually heads over there around 3 and we were just getting back. Plus I'm tired and don't really want to stay out late, much less leave the house, and besides, I'm enjoying my time with Ed.
Tomorrow I may go to my parent's house. I haven't seen my dad in almost 3 weeks because he went to Michigan. I don't think Amber has seen him either so maybe Audrey will come into town so I can see them too.
